October Is Respect Life Month
In October, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is designated as Respect Life Sunday. To support these annual observances, the USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities provides materials to help Catholics understand, value, and protect the gift of human life.

2025 Respect Life Intercessions
For our Holy Father, Pope Francis, and all bishops, priests, deacons and religious: that they will be guided and strengthened by the Holy Spirit as they promote the Gospel of Life.
We pray to the Lord…
For world leaders: that their work will always be guided and aided by the Holy Spirit in justice and peace for all people, at all stages of life;
We pray to the Lord…
For our president and all elected officials: that through their policies and decisions, they will uphold the sanctity of life from conception to natural death.
We pray to the Lord…
For all expectant mothers: that they will receive life-affirming care and support to help them choose life for their children.
We pray to the Lord…
That all who work in the health care profession will be supported and renewed in their commitment to protect and care for all human life, especially the unborn, the elderly and the sick.
We pray to the Lord…
For all who have been involved in an abortion: That their hearts will be open to receive the Lord’s mercy, healing and hope.
We pray to the Lord…
For all who have died, especially children who have died from abortion, and those who have died from violence in our communities: that they may share the glory of heaven with the saints.
