In 2026, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston is spearheading a massive initiative to prepare homes and parishes for the National Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, taking place on June 11, 2026, in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The Diocese is offering several resources, events, and opportunities for the faithful to engage in this historic spiritual renewal:
Home and Parish Enthronements
- Diocesan Goal: The Office of Family Life aims to bring the graces of the Sacred Heart to homes, parishes, and schools across South Carolina.
- Parish Initiatives: Parishes throughout the diocese are encouraged to host a Parish Enthronement on the First Friday of June as one united community.
- Home Kits: Families are encouraged to enthrone an image of the Sacred Heart in their homes. Free physical Home and Parish Enthronement Kits can be requested by contacting familylife@charlestondiocese.org. Digital resources are also available via Welcome His Heart.

His heart enthroned in your home
With great hope and enthusiasm, we ask all families to take action and enthrone your homes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!
This remarkable devotion was given to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in the 17th century, and the feast was established to reveal a profound understanding of Christ’s deep love for mankind. Bringing this message into your home promises to have a profound effect on your personal and family life.
The enthronement ceremony establishes Jesus as our King by placing him on the throne within our own home.
The Lord Jesus Christ has graciously offered promises to the families who pray this devotion. He said:
- I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life.
- I will establish peace in their families.
- I will console them in all their troubles.
- They shall find in My Heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of their death.
- I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings.
- Sinners shall find in My Heart the source of an infinite ocean of mercy.
- Tepid souls shall become fervent.
- Fervent souls shall speedily rise to great perfection.
- I will bless the homes where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.
- I will give to priests the power of touching the most hardened hearts.
- Those who propagate this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be effaced.
- The all-powerful love of My Heart will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments; My heart shall be their assured refuge at that last hour.
