What does VF mean?

The initials VF signify Vicar Forane. A vicar is a representative. Forāneus in Latin is “living away.” That means deans are the bishop’s representatives in the districts or deaneries of the diocese. A dean provides administration, leadership, discipline, and support for the priests in his deanery in the name of the bishop.
