Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic School Counselor to join our team. The ideal
candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, collaborative, and a self-starter.
This individual will work closely with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and
outside professionals to support student success.
Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: President
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
• Uphold and promote the values of Catholic education while fostering a nurturing
and inclusive school environment.
• Provide academic, college, career, and social-emotional counseling to students.
• Support students in goal setting, course selection, and post-secondary planning.
• Assess student needs and provide appropriate referrals to external mental health
professionals when necessary.
• Consult with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop intervention
strategies that promote student success.
• Monitor and track student progress, ensuring timely completion of counseling related tasks and deadlines.
• Deliver classroom presentations and workshops on topics such as college
applications, career exploration, and mental health.
• Assist with the coordination of standardized testing, college application processes,
and scholarship opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
• Commitment to Catholic education and the school’s mission.
• Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Appropriate state certification/licensure as a school counselor.
• Experience in academic, career, college, and social-emotional counseling
preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff.
• Well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
