Job Summary:
Part time childcare provider for two Masses each Sunday morning.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
• Provide a safe environment for toddlers ages 2-4 years old during the 9:30am and 12pm Sunday Masses.
• While their parents attend Mass, interact with the children, often offering additional encouragement to those who may experience separation anxiety.
• Assist with basic hygiene – does not include changing diapers.
• Prepare the space prior to the arrival of the children.
• Clean-up at the conclusion of each Mass.
• Interact with parents to ensure mutual expectations.
• Maintain attendance records.
Experience and Skills:
• Demonstrated experience caring for young children
• Ability to collaborate with a second care provider
• Ability to apply common sense implementation of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift a child weighing up to 40 pounds
• Frequent requirement to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Conditions for Employment:
• Satisfactory background check
• Completion of the VIRTUS course “Protecting God’s Children”
• Willingness to use a personal cellular device if needed to contact parents during Mass
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
