En junio de 2026, los miembros del Subcomité de Pastoral de Migrantes, Refugiados e Itinerantes de la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de los Estados Unidos visitaron nuestra diócesis en su recorrido anual, para conocer de cerca la labor de nuestro Ministerio de Trabajadores Agrícolas Migrantes en la atención a las necesidades espirituales y materiales de estos trabajadores esenciales.
Durante la visita, junto al Excmo. Mons. Jacques Fabre-Jeune, CS, se celebraron Misas en los campos e iglesias cercanas, se recorrieron distintos campos agrícolas y se sostuvieron encuentros con varias organizaciones que apoyan la labor de nuestro ministerio.
In June 2026, members of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Subcommittee on Pastoral Care of Migrants, Refugees, and Travelers (PCMRT)’s visited our diocese as part of their annual visit. They came to learn firsthand about the work of our Migrant Farmworkers Ministry in South Carolina, and how we care for the spiritual and material needs of these essential workers.
Masses were celebrated in the fields and nearby churches, together with Bishop Jacques Fabre-Jeune, CS. The team toured various farm sites and held meetings with several organizations that support the work of our ministry.
2023
A comienzos de la temporada de cosecha de 2023, un grupo de voluntarios de Caridades Católicas y miembros de la Parroquia de St. Mary Help of Christian en Aiken, Carolina del Sur, visitaron 3 campamentos repartiendo kits de higiene y alimentos no perecederos a 115 hombres.
At the beginning of the 2023 harvesting season, a group of volunteers from Catholic Charities and members of St. Mary Help of Christian in Aiken, SC, visited 3 camp sites to give out hygiene kits nonperishable food to 115 men.
