St. James the Greater 200th Anniversary Celebration

Please join us in celebrating the 200th anniversary of St. James the Greater Mission in Walterboro! All are welcome to join for this historic celebration. Founded in 1826, St. James the Greater is a rare and remarkable example of a rural African American Roman Catholic church that has remained intact for two centuries.

The weekend celebrations will include:

• Live Historian Presentation
• Church chorus performance
• Brick dedication
• Community cookout & picnic
• Afternoon anniversary banquet
• Celebration of the Holy Eucharist – with Cardinal Wilton Gregory!

Celebrations will take place Sept. 12-13 on parish grounds at 3087 Ritter Road in Walterboro.
