Mass at St. Martin de Porres in Columbia celebrating the Feast Day of St. Kateri Tekakwitha

The Feast Day of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, patron saint of traditional ecology, Indigenous Peoples, and care for creation.   Join us for Mass at St. Martin de Porres in Columbia on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 12 Noon as we celebrate our First Native American Saint in the United States.  Let us call on her for our ecology, the challenges of Native Americans today and a greater care for God’s Creation.   When three or more are gathered in his name God is in their mist.  Let us celebrate the gifts our Native American brothers and sisters bring to the Church.  Father Michael Okere is our celebrant and Deacon Larry Deschaine  will deliver the homily.  Deacon Larry Deschaine is the second Native American deacon to be ordained in the Diocese of Charleston.   Kathy Nelson and Keepers of the Word Drum Team will lead the congregation in song.   All are invited!
