‘Les Moineaux’ French Boys Choir Performance
July 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm| Free
Child globetrotters “les Petits Chanteurs de Nogent-sur-Marne,” formerly called “Les Moineaux,” will perform at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church (11001 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485) during their U.S. tour this summer.
The concert will include music of the 16th century, Handel’s “Hallelujah,” Gounod’s “Ave Maria” and works from French folklores. The performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday July 8th. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
A choir of 14 boys between the ages of 12 to 18, the group has been singing and traveling in France and all over the world for 65 years. Conducted by François Olivier, who is also the Titular of the Choir Organ at St. Eustache in Paris, the choir gives young boys a special life experience through singing and group life. Traveling in various countries also gives them the opportunity to discover different cultures. While on the road, their time is spent performing concerts, taping television shows, taking singing lessons, touring foreign locales and participating in the liturgy.
The cost of the concert is FREE. Donations are gladly appreciated.
The latest CD by Les Moineaux Boys Choir will be available for purchase.
