What We Have Seen and Heard: A Reflection and Dialogue on Peace for Teens
May 11, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
| $5.00St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is hosting a reflection and dialogue for teens (middle and high school) on the racial divide as a pathway toward peace. This interactive experience is being facilitated by Kathleen Merritt, director of the Diocese of Charleston Office of Ethnic Ministries. In 2015, Bishop Edward K. Braxton of Belleville, Ill., released a pastoral letter — “The Racial Divide in the United States: A Reflection for the World Day of Peace 2015.” This letter offers a tool for Catholics who seek to better understand of the racial divide and an avenue to address those issues that affect them. The reflection and dialogue that you are invited to attend will focus on the content of this letter, in addition to diversity and sensitivity issues among teens today.
