Earth Day 2021 with our Native American Catholics
April 22, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Catholic Native Americans / First Peoples have long recognized and celebrated in story, song and action the interdependence of God, the earth and all its creatures. With the pandemic hopefully starting to be behind us, questions loom as to what the “new normal” for us and our planet might be like. This webinar will focus on the environmental aspect of continuing life on earth with a safe and resilient ecosystem as part of this new normal. Topics covered will include what this sustainable ecosystem might look like by examining Pope Francis’s Encyclical “On Care for our Common Home (Laudato Si)”, as well as demonstrating what we can do as individuals and families via small scale gardening (soil and hydroponic). We’ll also demonstrate activities and crafts that one can do to get a deeper connection to our planet. Our presenters include Larry M. Deschaine, PhD, PE Permanent Deacon, and others.
