In an effort to better serve the parishes and ministries of South Carolina, the Diocese of Charleston is releasing a media toolkit each month with social media assets to promote a monthly theme across the state. This coming month, November, is the Month of Thanksgiving.

As we reflect on the living lives of gratitude, all parishes are encouraged to share and amplify the message #BeGrateful across their own social platforms with the help of the toolkit below.

Memorial of St. Martin de Porres - Nov. 3

Everything, even sweeping, scraping vegetables, weeding a garden and waiting on the sick could be a prayer, if it were offered to God. St. Martin de Porres, pray for us!

Feast of St. Charles Borromeo - Nov. 4

St. Charles Borromeo was a cardinal and archbishop who was one of the most influential figures of the Counter-Reformation in Italy. He was canonized in 1610 and is the patron saint of seminarians, spiritual leaders, bishops, and cardinals. St. Charles Borromeo, pray for us! #FeastDay #BeGrateful

Feast of St. Margaret of Scotland - Nov. 16

St. Margaret of Scotland was not only a queen, but a wife and mother of eight children. She influenced the Church by encouraging synods and trying to correct religious abuses common among priests and laypeople, such as simony, usury, and incestuous marriages. Together with her husband, she also founded several churches. She maintained a deep interior prayer life and was always quick to put the needs of the poor before her own. She died in 1093 and is the patron of widows, pregnant women, large families, and service to the poor.#FeastDay #BeGrateful

Presentation of Mary - Nov. 21

Today we commemorate the presentation of Mary in the temple as a young girl by Sts. Joachim and Anne. This was to carry out a promise made to God when Anna was still childless. This feast emphasizes that the holiness conferred on Mary from the beginning of her life on earth continued through her early childhood and beyond. #PresentationofMary #BeGrateful

Thanksgiving - Nov. 23

Happy Thanksgiving! On that day, you will say: I give you thanks, O LORD; though you have been angry with me, your anger has abated, and you have consoled me. UNIVERSE - NOV. 26 Happy Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe! Today marks the end of the liturgical year and honors Christ as King and Lord of the Universe. Today and everyday let us meditate upon the sovereignty of Christ's reign in our lives. #Solemnity #BeGrateful

Feast of St. Catherine Laboure - Nov. 28

St. Catherine Labouré was born in France on May 2, 1806, and entered the novitiate of the Daughters of Charity in 1830. Months later, Our Lady appeared to Catherine saying, God wishes to charge you with a mission. You will be contradicted, but do not fear; you will have the grace to do what is necessary. She showed herself inside an oval frame, standing upon a globe with rays of light coming from her hands toward the globe. Around the frame were the words, O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Mary asked Catherine to take these images to her spiritual director, telling him they should be placed on medallions. All who wear them will receive great graces, she said. This medal came to be known as the miraculous medal. St. Catherine Labouré died in 1876 and her body was found to be incorrupt. St. Catherine Laboure, pray for us!
