Special Education Teacher

Saint Joseph Catholic School, located in Columbia, South Carolina, is accepting applications for a qualified Special Education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  The position will be new to the school for the 2025-26 school year.  If circumstances allow, the position may start in late 2024 or early 2025 to help establish the program.

The selected applicant will work with 6-8 moderately disabled students in a self-contained classroom with the help of an Instructional Assistant.  He or she will work closely with the Director of Student Support to develop and implement Student Assistance Plans for each student.

The selected applicant will develop dynamic lessons, class projects, and activities that enhance students’ academic, social, and spiritual needs.

Applicants should have an understanding of the Catholic faith and be able to incorporate lessons that uphold and build upon the school’s mission.  Preferred applicants will have a current South Carolina or equivalent license and demonstrate previous special education teaching experience.
