First Grade Teacher

Prince of Peace Catholic School is seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher who is committed to providing a high-quality, faith-based education. The ideal candidate will create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment that encourages spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

– Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional activities that facilitate active learning and reflect the Catholic faith.
– Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that meet established school and diocesan standards.
– Create a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
– Integrate technology effectively into the classroom to enhance learning.
– Observe and evaluate student performance and development, providing feedback and guidance.
– Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
– Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
– Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
– Uphold the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church in both curriculum and daily interactions.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
– Valid teaching credential/certification for the appropriate grade level.
– Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, with a commitment to ongoing personal faith development.
– Previous teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
– Strong classroom management skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
– Proficiency with educational technology and its application in the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Master’s degree in Education or related field.
– Additional certifications in Reading, ESL, or Special Education.
– Experience with integrating Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum.
– Familiarity with current best practices in elementary education.About the Employer
