St. Martin de Porres Catholic School

Position: Part-time Elementary School Spanish Educator to join the St. Martin de Porres Catholic School Family. 

We seek a talented part-time Spanish teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year. We are eager to welcome an experienced educator who is dedicated to fostering student growth and is passionate about the Spanish language and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment that encourages spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Guide students in mastering world language standards through engaging in direct instruction, collaborative group activities, and innovative teaching techniques.
  • Focus on intercultural competency.
  • Collaborate with fellow SMDP educators to create opportunities for cross-departmental collaboration and enrich the academic experience.
  • Embrace additional responsibilities with enthusiasm, contributing proactively to the smooth and safe operation of daily school activities.
  • Elementary School Certification or a strong commitment to obtaining certification.
  • Previous experience working with elementary school students and a proven ability to inspire their growth and development in both beginner and intermediate Spanish
  • A belief in the potential of all students to learn and thrive, coupled with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
Applicants should have an understanding of the Catholic faith or be willing to learn about the Catholic faith.

– Create a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
– Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional activities that facilitate active learning and reflect the Catholic faith.
– Willingness to learn how to integrate Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum
– Uphold the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church in both curriculum and daily interactions.

– Commitment to ongoing personal faith development.
