Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church

Position Summary: Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church is seeking a Director of Parish Operations. The Director oversees day-to-day operations of the office and parish, manages personnel namely Parish coordinator, Finance Manager, Communication Assistant, Maintenance Manager, and custodians. The Director is responsible for managing the Pastoral Plan, marketing, record keeping, FlockNote, and Parish maintenance.

Reports To: Fr. Bruce Barnett, Pastor     

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive short-term and long-term plans for the Parish.
  • Manage all daily operations, programs, and affairs of the Parish.
  • Implement productive daily management practices to foster a productive, collaborative, cooperative spirit among the staff.
  • Develop and execute guidelines, strategies, and programs to support evangelization, catechesis, pastoral ministry, and parish administration.
  • Ensure the Parish’s organizational structure effectively meets the pastoral and operational needs. Conduct regular evaluations of current staffing and volunteer models to identify any additional skills or strengths needed. Manage the hiring, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Provide consultative support to help all ministries develop, coordinate, and guide their spiritual, moral, strategic, and financial initiatives.
  • Empower the parish laity to serve, organize and direct stewards to meet the needs of the Parish community, and provide professional support for ministries.
  • Implement systemization strategies and tools, such as Ministry Scheduler, Event Request, Announcement Request, and AdorationPro, to streamline key processes and operations.
  • Develop and execute clear, strategic communication plans and materials in both English and Spanish to effectively reach church and community audiences. Manage communications across all marketing channels, both digital and traditional, including online, print, and in-person. Standardize messaging and branding consistently across all platforms. Collaborate with Parish leaders to develop streamlined communications processes and define clear priorities.
  • Develop and implement HR policies for the Parish. Provide professional support and guidance to both staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee all fundraising programs, stewardship initiatives, and planned giving efforts. Promote a culture of financial stewardship. Ensure the theology of stewardship is integrated into the Parish’s development, formation, and all ministerial efforts.
  • Preserve, maintain, and improve on-campus facilities. Oversee maintenance supervisor and team including outside vendors. Ensure routine maintenance, repairs, and supplies. Oversee facility scheduling and usage.
  • Manage staff and volunteer training programs that cover job-specific requirements, operational processes, professional development, and workplace safety.
  • Manage the ministry leadership development program. Oversee the Volunteering Ministry to identify, connect, guide and coordinate volunteers.
  • Assist individuals/couples with petitions of nullity (annulments).

Education Requirements/Position Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish desired. 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: This position requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, using feet, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, reaching above shoulders, and tasting/smelling at least 1/3 of the time. This position requires that you will lift up to 10 pounds at least 1/3 of the time.
