Things to Know
Tickets:
- Please contact your parish office to obtain tickets to the congress.
Parking:
- There is limited free parking at the Convention Center that will be available on a first come, first served basis. Once the free parking is filled, there are other pay garages in the area.
- If you are taking a bus, please contact our office so that we can set off space for bus parking on the street
Seating:
- In order to allow participation from as many of those wishing to participate as possible, there will be two area of seating for liturgy and general sessions: in the Exhibit Hall downstairs and in the Ballroom upstairs
- Seating in the Exhibit Hall will be first come, first served
Eucharistic Procession:
- Each parish should try to have a banner to represent the parish. In the event of inclement weather, we will process around the space inside the convention center with the banners only.
- The procession route will be a little over a mile and contains an uphill portion. Please plan accordingly
Lunch:
- Lunch will be available for purchase by concession at the convention center.

DR. EDWARD SRI
Dr. Edward Sri is a theologian, author and well-known Catholic speaker who presents to tens of thousands of people from around the world each year, including clergy, parish leaders, catechists, and laity.
He has written several best-selling books, including The Art of Living; A Biblical Walk Through the Mass; No Greater Love: A Biblical Walk through Christ’s Passion; Walking with Mary; Who Am I to Judge? – Responding to Relativism with Logic and Love; and Into His Likeness: Be Transformed as a Disciple.
His latest books include, When You Pray: Trust, Surrender and the Transformation of Your Soul and a book on marriage that he co-authored with his wife Beth called The Good, the Messy and the Beautiful: The Joys and Struggles of Real Married Life.
Edward Sri is also the presenter of several Ascension Press faith formation film series, including: A Biblical Walk through the Mass; Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother; and When You Pray: A Clear Path to a Deeper Relationship with God. He also was the presenter for Symbolon: The Catholic Faith Explained from the Augustine Institute.
He is a founding leader with Curtis Martin of FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students), where he currently serves as Sr. Vice President of Apostolic Outreach.
Dr. Sri leads pilgrimages to Rome and the Holy Land each year and is the host of the acclaimed podcast “All Things Catholic.” He holds a doctorate from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome and is an adjunct professor at the Augustine Institute. He resides with his wife Elizabeth and their eight children in Littleton, Colorado.
Dr. Sri spoke to about 400 people who attended the 10th Marian Eucharistic Conference last October. The event is held annually in Greenville. You can read about his presentation from an article in the The Catholic Miscellany here.

BISHOP JOSEPH A. ESPAILLAT
Bishop Joseph A. Espaillat II was ordained and installed as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New York in January 2022. He is the youngest Catholic bishop in the United States and the first from the Dominican Republic. Bishop Espaillat grew up in Manhattan and was appointed pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church in the Bronx, New York, in 2015. He still holds this position in addition to his work as auxiliary bishop.
Bishop Espaillat holds a Master of Divinity in theology and an Master of Arts in theology, specializing in Church history. He has a background in performing arts, including writing and singing faith-based rap songs, and released a 2015 album called “Messengers of Christ” (Apple Music). He has worked as director of youth ministry and Hispanic Catholic Charismatic Renewal among many other assignments for the Archdiocese of New York.
Su Excmo. Mons. Joseph A. Espaillat II fue ordenado e instalado como obispo auxiliar de la Arquidiocesis de Nueva York en enero de 2022. STEVE ANGRISANO
Steve Angrisano is an internationally recognized Catholic composer, presenter, and passionate music missionary. Always rooted in humility and faithfulness, Steve’s highly effective and authentic style of ministry springs from his deep love for Jesus Christ. Connecting head to heart, renewing faith and inspiring young and old alike, Steve has traveled around the world for over two decades, sharing his unique blend of humor, story, and song. Parish Missions, Youth Events, Concerts, Staff Retreats, and Music Workshops…large or small…Steve loves joining his gifts with your team, working together to bring new life and passion to Catholic communities.
A veteran musician, composer and keynote speaker, Steve has been featured at 10 World Youth Days, emceed three National Catholic Youth Conferences (2005, 2007, 2009) and in 2021 was part of the main stage general sessions, serving as the choir director for the Youth Scola. Steve has lead the house band for the “Christ Our Life” conference in Des Moines, Iowa, since 2016. He has served as a keynote speaker for the Australian Youth Festival in 2017 and 2019. He was honored to serve as emcee when St. John Paul II visited St. Louis in 1999.
Steve has presented primary talks, music and workshops at the Pro-life Rally in Washington, D.C., Franciscan University Conferences, the National Pastoral Musicians Conference, National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry, Los Angeles Religious Education Conference and countless other events. Still, Steve’s passion, heart and daily work is dedicated to presenting parish missions, leading groups to the Holy Land, and 25 years composing music for OCP.
2020 saw the release of Let Us All Rejoice, modern musical setting of the entrance and communion antiphons. Steve’s collaboration with Sarah Hart and Curtis Stephan on this project received the ACP 2021 Excellence in Publishing Award. Steve’s Live, Songs from the Road CD, one of his many recorded collections, was awarded the Unity Award for praise and worship recording of the year in 2008.
Steve holds a Master of Arts in theology as well as a graduate specialization certificate in sacramental and liturgical theology from St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. He also holds a bachelor in marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.
Steve’s first love and vocation is his wife Jenni, their three children and four grandchildren. His desire for his family, and for each of us, is to live every day as compelling witnesses for Jesus.

JAVIER IVÁN DÍAZ
Born and raised in Colombia, Javier Iván Díaz is an influential singer and contemporary Catholic composer of bilingual and Spanish-language music. A composer from the age of 17, he has a masters degree in choral conducting and a Bachelor of Arts in music. While he began his college career at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, Iván later moved to the United States and completed his studies at Florida Atlantic University.
Iván has served as the choir director of the National Catholic Youth Conference, music director of the National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry, and as a high school choral director. Songs from his first album, Honor y Gloria a Él, are included in several OCP collections, including: Bendito, Bendito; Entre Tus Manos; and El Señor Nos Invita vol. 3: Songs for Lent, Easter and Pentecost. His most recent collection, Nuestra Alegría/Our Joy, contains Spanish and bilingual versions of English-language favorites, serving as a musical bridge for Hispanic and multicultural communities.
The USCCB invited Iván to lead the project of creating the official English-language theme song for World Youth Day Lisbon 2023, Feel the Rush in the Air. In addition to the translation, recording and video work for the song, he was invited to sing in person at World Youth Day Lisbon 2023. Iván also participated in several events, concerts and catechetical sites of World Youth Day Panama 2019. His song, Nuestra Alegría/Our Joy, was chosen as the official youth and young adult song for the V Encuentro. He has appeared on EWTN, Shalom World TV, Vatican News, Rome Reports and more.
Iván is involved in national and diocesan youth conventions, Hispanic and multicultural conventions, music workshops and other events across the U.S. He hopes that his music and testimony become instruments for all to experience the love of God.
He currently lives in Miami, Florida, where he attends the Church of the Little Flower and is the director of campus ministry at St. Thomas University.

The Eucharist: The Bread of Angels
An EWTN News Poll has shown that while US Catholics have a strong belief in the holy angels, their belief in the doctrine of the Holy Eucharist lags. This talk, entitled “The Eucharist: The Bread of Angels”, will begin by briefly covering the Church’s understanding of the holy angels, as understood through the lens of Saint Thomas Aquinas, before then delving in to what it means for the same theologian to understand the Holy Eucharist to be the Bread of Angels. The talk will conclude by applying what this means to the life of the Catholic faithful.

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and the Eucharist
Father David will delve more deeply into the Eucharistic lifestyle and devotion of the patron of SC’s newest parish, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925). It can be summed up in his response to a woman, who was shocked and fearful for his life when she found out how he was daily doing social outreach to the poor and sick in the sordid slums of Turin: “Jesus visits me every morning in Communion, and I repay Him in the miserable way that I can: by visiting His poor.”

Eucharist: The Maker, The Maintainer, The Unifier of God’s People
Father Okere will speak on the Eucharist as it makes a Christian community, because without the Eucharist there is no Church. God calls us to participate in his love, and he maintains and strengthens us through the sacrament of the Eucharist. As a unifier, the Eucharist invites us to share from one table, one bread and one cup. There are no Jews or Gentile, black or white: we are all equal as brothers and sisters, adopted children of the Lord. We must accept this invitation with joy. Coming back with full heart and mind will help us answer the concerns of our day, such as discrimination, neglect of the poor among us, and injustices and inequalities.

La Eucaristía en el Evangelio de San Juan
La Eucaristía fue instituida en la última cena. Tanto los evangelios sinópticos como Corintios (11; 24-26) dan testimonio de esta clara intención de nuestro Señor Jesucristo por amarnos extremamente donándose el Santo Sacramento del Altar. El evangelio según San Juan, por su parte, desarrolla una profunda teología cuidando de expresar con detalle los gestos Jesús, especialmente en el lavatorio de los pies y en el capítulo 6. La exegesis moderna ha enfatizado en cómo el uso de los verbos en el capítulo 6 expresan también una institución eucarística quizás en iguales condiciones a los demás evangelios. Te invito a compartir algunos de los elementos simbólicos de San Juan para adentrarnos más a amar y contemplar la Santa Eucaristía.

The Eucharist and Family Life
As Catholics, we are called not only to receive the Eucharist but to imitate Christ. Living a Eucharistic centered life can be very challenging today, but essential, if we want to be authentic Christian witnesses. In this breakout session we will reaffirm the source of our unity and love in the Eucharist while sharing practical ways to help families more faithfully live out their God-given mission through sacrifice, communion and presence, three distinct aspects of the sacrament.

The Holy Eucharist and Ecumenism
We Catholics speak of the Eucharist as the “source and summit” of our faith. Christians in general hold Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as important rites instituted by Christ, but there are significant differences in beliefs about the Eucharist. We will take a look today at the challenges these differences present as we try to achieve some level of Christian unity.
