Bishop Fabre’s October Message
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
I greet you with the joy of the Gospel! I thank you wholeheartedly for receiving from the heart our common calling to live as disciples and to invite others to follow The Way.
As I shared with you since the beginning of my episcopacy, I am grateful for the witness of evangelization my mother gave me in her devotion to Mary. My mother was a member of the Legion of Mary, and we said the rosary every day in our home.
Monthly Activity
The rosary not only taught me to have a relationship with Jesus, but also how to practice works of mercy. The Legionaries had to report to the apostolate what they had done during the week. For example: taking food, medicine to people in need, teaching others how to read and bringing souls to Jesus through Mary. In each of our lives, we can pull from at least one example of a formative period in our spiritual growth.
As we enter the month of October, dedicated to the Holy Rosary, I encourage all of you to embrace this time of prayer and reflection to proclaim the Good News of Christ Jesus with others. In this Year of Evangelization, we remember the words from St. Paul, “If I preach the Gospel, this is no reason for me to boast, for an obligation has been imposed on me, and woe to me if I do not preach it” (1 Cor 9:16).
May the prayers we offer this month inspire us to be courageous witnesses of Christ’s hope in our families, communities and beyond!
Proclaim the Faith – Year of Evangelization
Our theme for Via Fidelis in 2025 is “Proclaim the Faith.” This year, we will inspire and equip believers to share the Gospel and invite non-believers to encounter Jesus Christ and enter a relationship with him. Ultimately, proclaiming the faith allows us to recommit ourselves to the Lord’s way and to anticipate the fulfillment of his promises to us.
At the heart of our call as Christians is the commission to share the Good News of Christ to everyone we encounter in life. With this theme coinciding with the Jubilee Year of Hope, we will be placing special emphasis on the hope of the Gospel message.

Heavenly Father,
As we journey along the faithful way,
may we be so full of your love and joy that we draw others to you.
Walk with us now and strengthen us to
support one another in prayer and humble service.
As we focus on evangelization this year,
let us keep our eyes ever fixed upon you
so that we might joyfully proclaim your message of hope.
We ask this in the mighty name of your Son,
Jesus Christ, our Lord, and through the power of your Holy Spirit.
