DESCRIPTION:Our 2024 Young Adult Leadership Training Retreat will begin at 8pm on Friday\, August 16 and finish at 4pm on Saturday\, August 17th at Camp Gravatt in Aiken. This training is open to 18-35 year olds who are current young adult ministry leaders and leadership teams\, or for parishes wanting to send a young adult contact in with the goal of beginning a young adult ministry in their own community. Our training will cover the following: \n\nA Spiritual Renewal piece.\nThe mission of Young Adult Ministry\nHow we view a Ministry vs. a program.\nBuilding sustainable\, comprehensive\, and accessible young adult ministry within a parish.\nNetworking/best practices/opportunities to collaborate with other YA leaders.\n\nSpace is limited to 35 participants. Join us at 7:00 p.m. as we discuss faith\, share some fellowship\, and order a drink — or food if you like! \nThis fall we’ll have a 4-part series Communion  about the 4 parts of consecration and the Eucharistic feast — Taken\, Blessed\, Broken\, and Given. It’s heavily inspired by Eucharistic revival and devotion\, specifically from the Catechism\, and the purpose is to reorient our everyday worship and conform to His heart in this way. \n“Our way of thinking is attuned to the Eucharist\, and the Eucharist in turn confirms our way of thinking.” (CCC\, 1327) \nInvite a coworker\, bring a friend\, or just show up and meet some new people. DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event has ended\nRestless Hearts:\nFinding Peace in Christ \nOpen to all young adults ages 18-35\, this will be a weekend of faith\, fun\, and fellowship at the beautiful Diakonia Retreat Center. You will be able to encounter God through the Sacraments\, in prayer\, in nature\, and through other young adults as we share our journey of faith. We welcome Mr. Andrew Brueggen as we focus on something we all long for; rest. Throughout this retreat\, participants will explore the complexities of their restlessness\, the desire for peace\, and the principles of eliminating hurry\, all while deepening their connection with Christ and experiencing the transformative power of embracing God’s peace allowing them to “ rest” (Matthew 11:28). \nJoin us October 20-22\, 2023 in the upstate of South Carolina for this weekend of faith and fellowship. DESCRIPTION:Young adults 18-35 are invited to gather a team for our first annual Young Adult Kickball Tournament. Join us Saturday\, September 30th in the upstate as we host the best\, the most athletic\, the strongest…..or just those looking for a fun event to build community and meet other young adults from the diocese. \nHere’s how it works: \n\nPut together a team of 10 young adults\nDecide on an epic team name\nPractice…a lot!\nRegister your team through the event link:\n Kickball Team Registration\n\n\nRegistration cost is $100 per team of ten- this includes a boxed lunch. If teams/players want to add more lunches for families members or friends who want to come but not play\, please indicate that on the registration form. All players must be over 18 AND out of high school. \nThe tournament will be held at East Riverside Park in the upstate. Please see the information below for a map and address. The park includes two fields and a playground so feel free to bring the family.
