Saint Michael Catholic School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physical Education and Athletic Director to lead our physical education program and oversee athletics.  Saint Michael Catholic School is a vibrant and thriving PreK3-8th grade Catholic school dedicated to educating and guiding students by providing academic excellence, spiritual development, strong Catholic values, and good sportsmanship.

Position Overview:
The Physical Education and Athletic Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing physical education programs for students from PreK3-8th grade, promoting physical fitness, wellness, and healthy living. Additionally, the Athletic Director will lead our school’s athletic programs, coordinate team sports, and ensure that all programs align with the values and mission of the Catholic faith.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and teach engaging physical education curriculum.
• Oversee all athletic programs, including scheduling, marketing, budgeting, and managing athletic events.
• Supervise and coach athletic teams as needed.
• Coordinate with coaches and athletic staff to ensure programs run smoothly.
• Ensure student-athletes understand the importance of sportsmanship, faith, and teamwork.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to enhance the overall wellness of students.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and Catholic school athletic regulations.
• Organize extracurricular activities related to fitness, sports, and recreation.
• Organize and manage Kids Heart Challenge.
• Maintain communication with students, parents, and school administration regarding athletic program updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation Sports Management, or a related field.
• Teacher certification (preferred).
• Previous experience in teaching physical education or coaching athletics.
• Strong knowledge of physical fitness, health education, and coaching techniques.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
• Ability to integrate Catholic values and teachings into the athletic program.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Passion for working with students and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
