St. Andrew Catholic School, Myrtle Beach, SC is accepting applications for a long term substitute position in the 4th grade classroom effective immediately. The teacher must fulfill the mission of the school by planning, guiding and evaluating the learning process within the framework of the school’s philosophy. The candidate must provide the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual growth toward a successful future. This position is part of a strategic effort to help students reach their full potential. The 4th grade teacher should carry out their work professionally and with a spirit of initiative, creating an environment of confidence and respect. This subject area expert, in collaboration with the administration, will be responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive 4th grade classroom. This long-term substitute will be the homeroom teacher and is responsible for planning and teaching most core subject areas (literature, language arts, mathematics, history, science, religion) to the assigned 4th grade homeroom. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree and SC certification.

Candidates will:
-Demonstrate professionalism in a collaborative environment
-Have strong communication skills
-Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education
-Posses or be willing to obtain a SC teaching certificate
-Possess required citizenship, residency or work visa
-Promote the Catholic mission of the school
-An experienced, certified teacher having at least 2 years of classroom teaching or tutoring experience
-An individual who is organized, prompt, and adaptable to changes in the classroom
-An educator who loves learning, strives to help each student grasp the concepts taught, and manages the classroom with a firm but loving manner
-Undergo a background check and finished required Safe Haven training
-Have technology skills
