Overview
Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is seeking a detailed oriented individual to assist in cleaning our school building. The hours for his role are 1pm to 6pm, with some flexibility. The This job requires a variety of custodial activities to maintain the facility and grounds. This position requires collecting trash, high and low dusting, vacuuming, and much more. The employee must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks. The cleaner must be able to pass background checks. This individual must be kind, friendly, and be able to be around young children in a school setting. This person will have to be able to assist teachers with classroom cleanup.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be able to stand on feet throughout the day
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently; kneel occasionally
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and arm movements and simple grasping constantly
- Ability and willingness to work alongside coworkers when requested
- Must have experience with the proper use of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and cleaning equipment
- Vacuums, sweeps, mops, dust, polish, and cleans
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms and classrooms
- Clean glass, mirrors, and walls
- Monitor and control cleaning supplies, while minimizing waste
- Remove trash, place it in the dumpster, and replace liners
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to speak some English
- Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
- Ability and willingness to work with children
- Must have a basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals
Qualifications
- Employment is subject to background screening results
- This individual must be kind, friendly, and be able to work around young children in a school setting
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to speak some English
