Director of Student Support – Special Education Teacher

Saint Joseph Catholic School, located in Columbia, South Carolina, is accepting applications for a qualified Special Education teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.  The selected applicant will write and administer Student Assistance Plans (SAP).  Additionally, the position will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide push-in and pull-out services for SAP students in Math, Reading, and Language Arts, helping the SAP students fulfill and exceed the South Carolina and Diocesan academic standards.  The position will be coordinating the Response to Intervention team (RTI); assisting in staff development for differentiated learning; evaluating and measuring the effectiveness of specific strategies and interventions; support the instructional programs within the regular classroom.

Applicants should understand the Catholic faith and be able to incorporate lessons that uphold and build upon the school’s mission. Preferred applicants will have a current South Carolina or equivalent license and demonstrate previous Special Education teaching experience and Orton-Gillingham Training.
