Position Title: Preschool (K4) Teacher

Position Summary:
The K4 Preschool Teacher at Prince of Peace Catholic School is responsible for creating and maintaining a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom that supports the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of four-year-old students. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood education, a love of young children, and the ability to partner with parents in forming children in the Catholic faith.

Classification: Part-Time
Reports To: Principal

Essential Job Functions:
 · Create a developmentally appropriate, faith-filled learning environment in alignment with diocesan and school curriculum standards.
· Plan and implement lessons that foster growth in all developmental domains: spiritual, cognitive, language, motor, and social-emotional.
· Use Catholic teachings and prayer throughout the school day, incorporating age-appropriate religious instruction.
· Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents through conferences, newsletters, and informal communication.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
· Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
 · Supervise students during recess, lunch, and dismissal as needed.
· Participate in faculty meetings, professional development days, and school-wide events.
· Assist with the assessment and implementation of individual student support plans when necessary.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or administrative team.

Education Requirements/Position Qualifications:
 · Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required).
· South Carolina teaching certification or eligibility (preferred).
· Practicing Catholic in good standing.
· Prior experience teaching or working with young children in a school or childcare setting.
· Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
 This position requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, using feet, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, reaching above shoulders, and tasting/smelling at least 1/3 of the time. This position requires that you will lift up to 10 pounds at least 1/3 of the time.
