Elementary School Art Teacher for Divine Redeemer School

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver art lessons to students in kindergarten through fifth grade
• Develop and implement curriculum aligned with state and national standards for elementary art education
• Foster creativity, self-expression, and artistic skills development in students
• Supervise and guide students in various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
• Encourage students to explore and experiment with different art forms and mediums
• Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain a safe and organized art classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art into the broader curriculum and support students’ overall learning and development
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events to promote art education and engage with parents and the community

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification or license for elementary education
• Experience teaching art to elementary school students
• Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, and mediums
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Organizational and time management skills to plan and deliver lessons
• Creativity and flexibility to adapt to changing curriculum and classroom needs
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team

Additional Considerations:

• Art teachers may be responsible for managing art supplies, budgeting, and coordinating with other teachers and staff members.
• This position requires the teacher to educate all grades K-5th grade.
• Art teachers may also be involved in planning and coordinating school-wide art events, exhibitions, and performances.
