Overview

The Director of Engagement provides overall leadership for fundraising and development programs. The Director of Engagement works closely with key leadership and donors. The overall goal of this position is to develop both long-term and immediate strategies and programs for the engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts. Candidates must be self-motivated, highly competent with a proven track record in sales or donor cultivation, an excellent communicator, dynamic, adaptable, and a team player.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee execution of development and stewardship programs (i.e., capital campaigns, planned giving, outreach events, and relationships with donors).
  • Ensure alignment between project goals and the allotted budget.
  • Coordinate with Catholic Charities Leadership to plan and achieve development goals.
  • Ensure development goals and events align with the organization’s goals, values, and mission.
  • Cultivate and solicit a development pipeline for major planned giving events.
  • Evaluate and monitor regional results of stewardship initiatives.
  • Oversee implementation and execution of fundraising goals.
  • Partner with other staff members to implement and execute philanthropic objectives.
  • Gather, analyze, and present monthly stewardship initiatives to Leadership Team.
  • Build and foster relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in development work, managing staff, budgeting, and fundraising.
  • Practicing Catholicism is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge, experience, and proven success managing fundraising initiatives.
  • Previous experience with planned giving, fundraising, and key stakeholders.
  • Experience with defining departmental and staff goals and executing those goals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence donors.
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge or other client database management software programs.
