Weekend Mass is celebrated in the Performing Arts Center of Bishop England High School. New 850-seat church currently under construction, completion end of 2022.

Job Description

The Coordinator will provide leadership and oversight to the Children’s Ministry (Pre-Kindergarten – 5th grade) of our parish by being an advocate for intentional discipleship and evangelization of our families and children, and coordinating all facets of religious education for this age group. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and interpersonal skills . Qualified candidates must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, fully committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church. This will be a part-time 25-30 hours per week position and will require a flexible schedule with ability to work on weekends. Two to three years of prior faith formation experience preferred.

Responsibilities shall include:
• Working with the Pastor and Parish Leadership to develop and execute a clearly defined vision for year-round discipleship and evangelization within Children’s Ministry that works in conjunction with the overall vision and ministry of Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church.
• Continue to build and develop a Children’s Ministry core team, which consists of key committed and gifted volunteers and catechists.
• Work with Director of Youth Ministry and the Pastor to develop and implement a strategy for whole-family discipleship; working with families to equip and empower parents/families to disciple their children.
• Provide oversight and organization for all aspects of Children’s Ministry programming, including:
o Sacramental Preparation, including Baptismal preparation, First Reconciliation, and First Communion.
o Sunday morning Children’s Liturgy of the Word
o Catechesis of the Good Shepherd – Ages 3 to 6
o Clare’s Kids – Grades 3-5
o Children and Family social event planning with volunteer assistance
