DESCRIPTION:Precious Blood of Christ Church in Pawleys Island will host a talk by Kathi Aultman\, MD\, a nationally recognized speaker. Her compelling story is a journey from atheist and abortionist to a defender of life. \nDr. Aultman is currently an associate scholar with the Charlotte Lozier Institute and a member of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists\, the Christian Medical and Dental Associations\, the Florida Medical Association and is a Life-Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She retired from medicine after working as a board-certified OB/GYN from 1981-2014. Early in her career\, Dr. Aultman performed abortions\, but her experiences eventually led her to become a staunch defender of pre-born life. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Leadership Training at Heart Ridge Retreat Center in the Upstate of South Carolina! This weekend will have a different pace than our other retreats\, but be prepared to meet other young adults\, hear from local and national speakers\, and even learn more about yourself and who God created you to be!  \nWe’ll have time for small group discussion\, prayer\, strengths inventories\, talks\, and simply enjoying ourselves and the gift of our community! This weekend is designed for those who lead a parish YA Ministry\, but it is also open to any and all young adults ages 18-35 who are eager to grow in their relationship with Jesus and develop their own leadership skills.  \nThe cost of the weekend is $40\, but scholarships are available. Registration is now open\, and please pay online when you sign up if you plan to pay with a debit/credit card. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a continuing education opportunity with Roy Petitfils to discuss Mental Health. \nAugust 22\, 2022 – Assembly Hall\, Charleston\, SC \nRoy Petitfils is a Catholic author\, speaker\, and psychotherapist in private practice. Petitfils has more than twenty-five years of experience ministering to youth and young adults in parishes\, dioceses\, and schools. He has spoken to youths and adults in more than seventy-five dioceses in the United States and Canada\, and has given keynote addresses at numerous national and regional conferences\, including USCCB Convocation of Catholic Leaders\, NCCYM\, and NCYC. Petitfils also spoke at TEDx in 2016 and is host of the popular Today’s Teenager Podcast. He has a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from St. Joseph Seminary College. He did graduate work in spirituality and theology at Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas and earned a master’s degree in community and school counseling from the University of Louisiana Lafayette.

He will talk of his conversion to Catholicism\, a captivating story. Since that conversion he has become an internationally known author and speaker. He is currently director of book publishing at the Augustine Institute\, editor of the St. Austin Review and Faith and Culture\, series editor of the Ignatius Critical Editions\, senior instructor with Homeschool Connections\, and senior contributor at the Imaginative Conservative. His personal website is jpearce.co. \nPearce is an internationally acclaimed author of many books\, a few of which are The Quest for Shakespeare\, Tolkien: Man and Myth\, The Unmasking of Oscar Wilde\, C.S. Lewis and the Catholic Church\, Literary Converts\, and Solzhenitsyn: A Soul in Exile. He hosted two 13-part series about Shakespeare on EWTN\, and has written and presented documentaries on the Catholicism of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
