SUMMARY:Sacred Relics of the Saints - Treasures of the Church
DESCRIPTION:Corpus Christi Church in Lexington invites you to experience an extraordinary Vatican collection of over 150 relics\, some as old as 2\,000 years. Father Carlos Martins\, a Vatican-appointed expert on relics\, will present a teaching and exposition of Sacred Relics inside the church building on Saturday\, April 2\, at 1:00 p.m. \nAmong the treasures will be relics of St. Joseph\, St. Maria Goretti\, St. Therese of Lisieux (the “Little Flower”)\, St. Francis of Assisi\, St. Anthony of Padua\, St. Thomas Aquinas\, and St. Faustina Kowalska. There will also be a portion of the Veil of Our Lady and one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross in the world. DESCRIPTION:The Diocesan Evangelization Team is composed of high school students from across the state who are on fire for the Lord\, plus a team of adults who lead the team with the Holy Spirit in their hearts! The purpose of the team is to share God’s love with youth in South Carolina. We do this through offering retreats and conferences to junior high and high school students. During these events\, the team: \n\n\n\nperforms dramas to stimulate discussion about life issues the participants may be facing\nleads small group discussions based on God’s Word and Catholic teachings\nand shares about their own personal relationship with Jesus and a variety of other tasks.\n\n\n\nFirst and foremost\, each member must have a personal relationship with Christ and strengthen this relationship with daily prayer. Prayer is the most important part of this team\, for without knowing the Lord we simply cannot tell others about His amazing love. A team member should be a person who abides by the Catholic Church and Her teachings\, placing the sacraments at the center of his or her faith life.
