SUMMARY:Advent Fest: Celebrating the Prince of Peace
DESCRIPTION:Prince of Peace Church in Taylors will host a parish festival to celebrate the start of Advent this year on Saturday\, Dec. 7. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for vendors and ministries in the Parish Activity Center. \nIn addition to a variety of wonderful artisans selling handmade goods perfect for Christmas gifts\, the event will feature live music\, food\, church tours\, and the official unveiling of Prince of Peace’s Great Nativity with life-sized figures and animals. Children can enjoy a free scavenger hunt and craft activity around the market\, and parish ministries will be present to share more about the good work they do in the community. \nSt. Nicholas will also make a special appearance to read a story to the children and provide an opportunity for festive photos. DESCRIPTION:Young Women 18-35 are invited to our annual Advent Retreat. Join us Saturday\, December 14 at St. Peter’s in Columbia for a day of fellowship\, faith\, and reflection. This year’s retreat presenter is Regina Boyd. \nRegina Boyd is a licensed mental health counselor and marriage and family therapist. She is the founder of Boyd Counseling Services and a contributor to the Hallow app. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Rollins College. \nBoyd has presented extensively on the intersection of mental health and Catholicism for national organizations including the Catholic Campus Ministry Association\, Given Institute\, FemCatholic\, and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
