DESCRIPTION:November is Black Catholic History Month. Please join us in celebrating the gifts African Americans bring to the Church.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrothers and Sisters in Christ\, \nBlack Catholics have had a huge impact on the history and traditions of Christianity of the Church and have been formally celebrating that history since 1990 when the National Black Catholic Clergy Caucus of the United States established Black Catholic History Month. At our gathering\, in addition to a tasty lunch\, we will pray\, share & reflect on the life of African Americans Catholics being considered for Sainthood. Additionally\, we will participate in spirit-filled Black Catholic History Snippet activities. There will also be a youth track for middle and high school students. \nYour hostess for the day will be Sr. Roberta Fulton\, SSMN. Facilitators include: Judge Arthur C. McFarland\, Ms. Elease Amos-Goodwin and Ms. Kathleen Merritt. \nLunch will be served and registration is required. The registration fee is $10.00 . There is no charge for youth to attend. DESCRIPTION:As we celebrate the Bicentennial of the Diocese of Charleston\, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbia is honored to serve as host to great choirs for their yearly programs. \nThe University of South Carolina Concert Choir will present their final concert of the semester on Sunday\, Dec. 8 at 6:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  The concert\, entitled “Radiant Dawn\,” will include music by Bach\, Victoria\, MacDowall\, and Whitacre\, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci.  In keeping with the 50 year tradition of the choir\, the performance will also feature beautiful music for the Christmas season.
