SUMMARY:Online Retreat for Adult Children of Divorce
DESCRIPTION:The Life-Giving Wounds online healing retreat is a unique opportunity for adult children of divorce or separation (ACODs) to reflect intentionally on the wounds caused by their family’s breakdown\, together with others who know this pain. Together\, modeled on the suffering and resurrection of Christ\, we’ll follow a “Paschal journey” through first the pain (“death”) of our parents’ broken relationship\, uncovering the various layers of the wound; then the deep joy (“rising”) of accepting anew our deepest identity as God’s beloved children and growing in relationship with others and God; and finally a way forward in the suffering (“going forth”) renewed in hope and joy. SUMMARY:40 Days for Life Closing Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Greenville’s closing celebration for the fall 40 Days for Life campaign will be held Nov. 3 from 7:00-8:15 pm in the parking lot of Piedmont Women’s Center\, 1143 Grove Road. Parking is a short distance down the road at Grove Road Baptist Church. \nOur speaker will be Matt Britton\, Matt holds a Masters Degree in Forensic Science from George Washington University and a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Matt has had an expansive legal career\, including four terms as an elected prosecutor; a county attorney; counsel to many non-profits and U.S. companies at home and abroad; as a major law firm litigator\, and as general counsel. Matt has written and spoken many times on a wide range of legal and pro-life issues in locations on four continents. He will address specifically the issues we are facing in Greenville. Come with questions! Most importantly\, Matt is married to Libby Britton\, and they have eight beautiful children and six grandchildren. \nPlease join us for our celebration of life! We will have door prizes\, refreshments\, music and fellowship. All are welcome.
