SUMMARY:Assisted suicide and euthanasia talk with Wayne Cockfield
DESCRIPTION:Respect Life of Precious Blood of Christ Church in Pawleys Island will host national pro-life speaker Wayne Cockfield for a talk on assisted suicide and euthanasia. \nCockfield is treasurer of the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) and vice president for Medical Ethics. He also serves as an at-large director on the organization’s board and executive committee. Since 1996\, he has worked with the the committee to promote public awareness of the preset and growing threat of euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. Cockfield has addressed the National Conference of Pro-Life Legislators in Washington\, D.C.\, and has been a featured speaker at numerous pro-life events. \nBorn in South Carolina\, Cockfield served with the Marine Corp in Vietnam until gravely wounded in action in November 1969. He received the Bronze Star with V for heroism. He travels extensively speaking out for protection of medically vulnerable people including the poor\, the elderly\, the disabled and those who are chronically and terminally ill. \nThe event is free and open to the public.

We meet in the Nativity Church Parish Life Center for dinner and break up into small group meeting rooms for discussion.\n\nFirst up — Food  \n\nWhether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table\, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake\, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with food\, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.\n\nFollowed by — Talk \n\nThe talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally thirty minutes long\, they can be given as a live talk or played as a video. DESCRIPTION:We invite you to the 11th Marian Eucharistic Conference with joy and hope that you will experience the amazing of God’s infinite\, unfailing mercy and love. This year\, we are adding the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction to the schedule. This year\, our featured speakers will focus on seeking to anchor ourselves to the two pillars of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary. \nREGISTER \nGeneral Admission: $125\, Youth: $75. Early registration by October 2. After October 2\, the price increases to $135. DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event has ended\nRestless Hearts:\nFinding Peace in Christ \nOpen to all young adults ages 18-35\, this will be a weekend of faith\, fun\, and fellowship at the beautiful Diakonia Retreat Center. You will be able to encounter God through the Sacraments\, in prayer\, in nature\, and through other young adults as we share our journey of faith. We welcome Mr. Andrew Brueggen as we focus on something we all long for; rest. Throughout this retreat\, participants will explore the complexities of their restlessness\, the desire for peace\, and the principles of eliminating hurry\, all while deepening their connection with Christ and experiencing the transformative power of embracing God’s peace allowing them to “ rest” (Matthew 11:28). \nJoin us October 20-22\, 2023 in the upstate of South Carolina for this weekend of faith and fellowship. Cost is $85 per person for a shared room and $160 for a private room/married couple. Scholarships available if this is a hardship.
