Pope Francis’ Most Recent Apostolic Exhortation, Christus Vivit is the single most important document from the church involving young people since “Renewing the Vision” was published.  This exhortation is the guiding document in ministering to youth, young adults, and families. If incorporated into your ministry, it will transform your ministry! If you are ministering to youth and young adults, you need this document!

Our presenter Paul Jarzembowski is the lead staff for youth and young adult ministries at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, serving the Bishops Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth. In that role, he is also the national coordinator for World Youth Day for the United States and has played a key role in the United States’ engagement in the synodal process on “Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment.” Originally from the Chicago area, Paul received his undergraduate degree in theolo󿵋 and marketing from Valparaiso University in Indiana and his master’s degree in pastoral studies from Loyola University Chicago. He has worked in parish, diocesan, and campus ministries in the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Diocese of Joliet prior to working at the USCCB.  Paul has consulted with and spoken in over 300 dioceses, parishes, and Catholic organizations across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and the Vatican.

Our Speaker will focus on:

How did this document come about?
· Why did Pope Francis want to bring
this to life?
· Why is this document so important to
those in ministry?
· How does it pertain to young people,
to ministry leaders, to pastors, to
families, and to active Catholics in
the community of all ages?
· How to read through the document
(the why/what)?
· How do I apply it in my ministry?
· How do I use it as a tool for my
ministry?
· How do I you use the document as an
advocate for youth and young adult
ministry?
· How do Pope Francis and the
framers see this document guiding us
into the future of ministry?
· What does “synodal” mean and why
Pope Francis says that our ministries
with young people have to be synodal.
